I know it's getting old but i really need some free broadway sheet music, pref. rent or phantom?
ok i know it's getting old with people bugging about free sheet music and all the excuses, but i'm working to better my piano skills and all the sheet music i can find is too easy. i've passed the beginners stage and would like to move on. unfortunately, i'm really poor and cannot get it as it is not a necessity. however i would love to start working with broadway music as my family is big on the shows like grease, rent, phantom, cats, etc. my step dad is a great singer and i'd love to accompany his performances. and some may say well use his vocal sheet music but he's good enough not to need any. so even for the lower productions, i'd like to get some sheet music from broadway if anyone has any. URLs to some free print offs work too. thanks all.

- The simple answer... if it's free it's illegal. I know, it sucks, but you have to pay the royalties to play the music. But the good news is I have a couple suggests. 1) Try your local library. You'd be surprised at the collections most libraries have accrued. I can't tell you how many times I've scoured through the library for a piece of music. 2) Musicnotes.com Yes, it's not free but at least you don't have to buy the entire score. They have a massive and quite impressive stock of show tunes. It's perfect for instant downloads too. So not exactly what you asked for but frankly, it's as close to free as you're gonna get. I'm saying this as one broke pianist to another.
