How do you create sheet music on the computer?

I have written music on staff paper by hand, but I was wondering if there was some program that allowed you to make sheet music virtually. Is there something I could download, or do I have to buy a program for it?

2. Sibelius. :D Also, if you have a sequencing software like cubase, then you can create sheet music on there.
3. Your answerz r WEAK! Try Melody Assistant. It's shareware but you can do pretty much anything as with the paid version and no time limit. The only important thing you can't do is change the time signature on the free version. And it only costs €20
